Walker MacWilliam and I moved to New York in the hot summer of 1988. We were following our dreams of becoming an art director (me) and a clothing designer (Walker). The following summer, in the production studio of my first agency, I helped Walker put tother his first portfolio, using all the skills, tools and imagination I had at the time—it was beautiful crude at best. After years designing for Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade, Coach, Donna Karan, Ghurka, Cole Haan, Club Monaco, and Jack Spade, Walker set off on his own to create Maryn, a unique blend of clothing, accessories, and jewely. It was a full-circle moment that I loved.
